Bedroom Switcheroo

Lately I have been bouncing back and forth between a bunch of different projects around the house. I think I have about 7 or 8 projects going on all at once right now. That might drive some people crazy. But I thrive on it, in fact, I love it! It’s nice to have multiple things to do. Today, I finished one project that I have been working on. I told you that I was making some changes to the bedroom, now I will show you some photos of what I have been up to.

Remember where we left the master bedroom? I had just gotten a new duvet cover from West Elm.

Well, I finally came to the conclusion that it was time to switch the bed. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love my bed. My Dad made it for us as a wedding present and it has been in our room for the past 12 years. But after getting my new duvet, I thought that it would be nice to make a switch for a while and put the sleigh bed in the guest room and the headboard from the guest room into our room.

When I brought the headboard over, I also switched out the fabric from black to white. We also hung it higher on the wall to make it feel more grand.

I LOVE the headboard in here. It fits much better with the style that I am going for. Now I am trying to talk Jason into making a platform type base so I can get rid of the dust ruffle since I’m not really into it :)

Not only does this headboard look better in here, the sleigh bed looks better in the guest room. So it’s a happy day all the way around. I will show you the guest room later. I still have to make the bed in there :)

You may notice that the duvet is not as fluffy. That’s because once the temperatures start to warm up it gets to hot for us. So, since it’s been about 80 degrees here lately, we just took the duvet out and leave it on as a lightweight blanket.

One project down, more to go :) I still need to figure out what I’m going to do about pillows and the curtains. I’m also wondering if I should paint the nightstands. I’m not sure about that yet. Any suggestions?!
