Around The House
Lately, I have been finding myself just doing little things around the house. Nothing major, just tying up loose ends. It feels good. It’s nice to get some of those things done and be able to check them off my list. For example, I’ve made a couple of changes to the bedroom, started planning my garden for spring, and continued painting in the laundry room. Not earth shattering, I know. But still, it’s good :)
Since none of these things require a post of their own, I thought I would just lump a couple of things together today. Because you know how I like to document. Every. Little. Thing :)
Remember the post when I opened up my kitchen cupboards and let you peek inside? I had one cupboard next to the stove top that was a mess. And I didn’t like it:
All of the pans were in a jumbled pile stacked one on top of another. Drove me crazy! And yet, it was one of those things that I just never bought dividers to fix the problem. I don’t know why. I just didn’t really think about it that much until I was reaching for a pan :)
Then, back in October, I made a trip to Ikea and while there I finally got one. It practically leaped off the shelf into my cart. It had to come home with me :) I can’t remember how much it was but it was a two pack and I believe it was just a few dollars. Then I let them sit on a shelf for 4 months. Why oh why, did I wait so long?!
They were super simple to install. I just had to put 4 screws in place and I was done! Now, when I open up the cupboard I can easily pull out the pan I am looking for. Happy day!
Moving on… As you are all aware, I have been slowly adding to the gallery wall in the living room since I first started it in May of last year. It had some humble beginnings but as I keep adding to it, it gets fuller and fuller. Again, my goal is to fill the whole wall with frames and my requirements are: 1. Cheap frames (collected from thrift stores and clearances) 2. All plain, no fancy details 3. All white (I have been sprainting them to make them match). Click here for the last living room update which I showed the wall to see the difference between it and now:
Once again I struggled with getting a shot without glare and failed! Oh well!
See how much fuller it is getting?! I added 12 frames (I paid less than $10 for all of them!!) and it made such a huge difference. It’s super fun to get to add them and I’m hoping to add some more soon. I’m on the hunt for some more larger sizes to fill in some of the gaps. Ultimately, I really want more photos up there but when I put these up I just put random stuff in them for now. Some of them might get changed.
I gathered up “artwork” from all over to put in the frames. Pages from old books, cards, diy art… nothing was off limits if I thought it would look good up there :)
A cupboard divider and a gallery wall. Two little projects, but they make me smile when I see them. Even small changes are good changes, right?!

I just got home from town and I bought you a little “change”. Can’t wait to give it to you!
Love the changes you’ve done – wish my cabinets were organized like that but then, I just need new cabinets – know a good cabinet maker?!
Lookin’ good! Makes me thing I should do something with the one awful drawer in the kitchen and my drawer in the bathroom!
Haha! I know the feeling :)
