Thrift Finds: Living Room Artwork

I believe in waiting. I believe in waiting until you find just the perfect thing instead of settling for something you aren’t in love with. That doesn’t mean that I always do this. Sometimes I do settle. And then I regret it later. But when I wait, and just the perfect thing comes along, I am always glad I waited. That is what happened to me this week. I waited and I found!

As you know, the living room has been a work in progress for a while now. I have been adding things here and there and working on my picture gallery from time to time and things are getting closer to finished and I am loving the way it is turning out. One thing that has been missing is artwork for the back wall. I had some ideas for it but for some reason I just wasn’t crazy about any of those ideas. And so it has been left blank. It is a large wall and it really needed something.

On Friday I went thrifting with my Mom. We found just the perfect thing for the back wall:

What do you think? I’m so happy with it. I love the way it brings in some of the colors of the living room but yet they aren’t the exact colors because then everything starts to feel too matching. It’s nice and big too. And it was only $25! Here it is in the room:

I don’t have any information on the artist but what is interesting about it is that it was painted on a board. I have been trying to decide if I want it framed or not but I am kind of digging it without a frame. I’m wondering if a frame will make it feel too formal.

My friends think it looks like Michael Jackson. Do you agree?!
