Photo 365: 06.15.11 – 06.21.11
I am so happy to hear that you guys love the thrifting posts! You know how it’s way more fun to find a good bargain when you can share it with someone? That’s probably why I like posting my finds, I get to share them with all of you! This past week for Photo 365 I chose another theme: thrift week. Every outfit I wore had to have at least one thrifted item. It made dressing really fun especially because I have been collecting thrift store finds for the past few months. Ready? Here we go!
50mm, 200 ISO, f/5.6, 1/50
For every single shot this week I used my tripod and self timer. For this outfit, the skirt, shoes, and clutch were all thrifted. Here is a close up of the items taken on my breakfast nook table :)
Skirt $2, Shoes $4, Clutch $1
50mm, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/400
The shoes and the skirt were thrifted for this outfit.

For this photo I was in a hurry, this was the day I forgot to blog because I was on my way to go shopping with my Mom. I only had a couple of minutes to take a photo and this is what I got :) While we were shopping I had someone tell me I looked like I walked straight out of a catalog. I thought it was funny as I have never had that happen to me before :)
Thrifted: Shirt $4, Shoes $.75, Necklace $1
50mm, 800 ISO, f/3.2, 1/30
This was my birthday outfit. It looks sunny in the picture but it was actually thundering and lightning out when I took this. It was very stormy and I loved it! The items thrifted were the shoes and dress.
The dress is actually a skirt that I just pulled all the way up. It happened to fit well as a dress and I was happy for that :) Skirt/dress $1, Shoes $1.50 (they are BCBG and they had never been worn!).

Thrifted: skirt and clutch
I love this skirt. It’s super comfortable and it happened to fit just right. I found it at a garage sale for $.25 and I wasn’t even able to try it on so it was wonderful that it fit so well. The clutch is Nine West and it still had the tags on, it had never been used. I found it for $1. I love finds like that :)

Ahhh, finally, a casual outfit :) Thrifted: jeans, shoes, and sunglasses
I found the sunglasses last week for $.25. Earlier that morning I had been reading some fashion blogs and someone had on some vintage sunglasses. I have always wanted to find some from the 80’s and I was thinking to myself that I never seem to find them. Wouldn’t you know it I found some that day! And for only a quarter, amazing! The jeans were $1 and the shoes were $4.

This dress was also a skirt. I worked a little of my sewing magic to make it into a dress. While it was still a skirt I showed it to you here. I like it much better as a dress although I may have made it a bit too short :) It looks really cute with leggings though!
Thrifted: skirt $1.50, shoes $4.
We made it, a whole week of thrifted outfits. That was fun wasn’t it? I just love the thrill of the hunt. Previously I only ever looked for housewares when I went thrifting. This is the first year I have looked for clothing and I must say, I am really enjoying myself. Plus, it works well for my budget :)

Wow! I am super impressed. You have such an eye for things and I am a little jealous of that. You look great!!
Those were ALL great Kellie! Your bday outfit and red skirt were my favorites! btw, I took your advice and left Selah’s bed natural. I can always paint it in the future. :)
You guys are so sweet :) thanks for the comments!
AAAAAAAMAAAAZIIIIIING! thanks for sharing I am so inspired. I need a whole new wardrobe(yay) and now I am thinking to give a second hand a second chance. Previously I have been under the impression I do better as a clearance shopper but I am rethinking how to look for fabulous finds like these!
