Chalkboard Clock
I had a fun idea this past week when I came across this round thing in my craft room closet. I have no idea why I bought it but I know I’ve had it for a very long time and (obviously) have never done anything with it so I decided to finally use it for a craft project.
I help out in the nursery at church on Sunday mornings and there is no clock in the room. Sometimes, I think about how it would be nice to know what time it is and how much longer the service will last and the parents come to rescue us :) I knew this circular thing would be just the ticket. Here is the disc that I have been talking about:
The other side of it is cork so maybe it’s supposed to be a round bulletin board. It’s about 13.5” so it was perfect for a clock. First I bought a clock kit from the craft store and some extra hands because the hands the kit came with were really small. Next, I drilled a hole in the center for the clock works to go through. Then I sprayed it with chalkboard paint.
After I let it dry for a couple of days, I assembled the clock and drew on the chalkboard. I think it will be fun to change the design now and again but for now I made it pretty basic:
All in all it was a quick and easy project. I think it turned out pretty cute and I can’t wait to hang it up in the church nursery :)
