Tissue Paper Fun

You know how yesterday I said I would probably be using my new Japanese washi tape for every project known to man? I wasn’t kidding :) The other day I was thinking about how many uses there are for it and I was dreaming of all the other patterns that I need to add to my collection. At that moment I had a brilliant idea.

What if I turned tissue paper into tape? It would kind of give the effect of washi tape since it’s a bit translucent. It also comes in lots of patterns and colors and it’s cheap. I decided to give it a try. First I dug out my sticker maker and then I rifled through my tissue paper to find a pattern that I thought would be fun. I cut it into strips and ran it through the sticker maker.

It worked like a charm! I have already used it on scrapbook pages and other projects. I still like washi tape better but this is fun too and it’s easy to do. Then, because I had the tissue paper lying around on my work table, I thought it would be fun to make a couple of little bags with it too.

I think they turned out so cute!

They are small so I think they will be cute to use in my scrapbooks as well. For these little bags I just cut a rectangle out of tissue paper and folded the two sides into the middle overlapping just a bit and glued it. Then I cut the top and bottom with my pinking shears and folded up the bottom and glued it also. And if you want, once you put something in it, you can close it up by folding over the top and sealing it with washi tape :)

Too fun! You can bet that I am now going to be on the lookout for more fun tissue paper! If anyone finds any that is a small chevron pattern, please let me know!
