We Made It!
What a week! But we made it! Just a quick recap, we began leasing a building for the church in the fall of 2007 and now on February 8th, we had our first service there! It has been a long haul but we made it.
A couple of weeks ago we got a wonderful surprise that Jason’s parents and aunt Mary Jo wanted to come for a visit to help us paint the church. Amazing that anyone would want to take a vacation to paint but we, of course, didn’t turn them down on their offer! So on Thursday of last week they arrived ready to get to work. So Friday we headed over to the building to begin painting and were joined by Clark and Maureen. We ended up painting all day Friday and Saturday but we were able to finish the entryway, hallways, and kids rooms. We got a lot accomplished! Here are some pictures:
Clark pours Mary Jo some paint into her bucket
Jean cuts in around a doorway
Dick gets comfortable on the floor while cutting in
Jason loving his job
After finishing all that we could we called it a night and woke up the next morning ready for our first Sunday service in the new building! Service went well and we were all so excited to be there. We had some friends from Chattanooga come celebrate with us and also some new visitors. It was a good day :) I wish I could have taken more pictures but I didn’t want to only be the photographer and not socialize so… we only have a few. But I suppose a few is enough! Here you go:
greeting friends
all set up (obviously, this room has yet to be painted!)
enjoying conversations
pastor Jason
father and son
Afterward, we enjoyed one another for awhile longer and had super yummy pizza together. All in all, a great day! Praise the Lord!
Thank you to all who have been praying for us, we can tell! But now, back to painting! The bathrooms are being worked on today and eventually, we will be finished!

Praise the Lord, you are in your new church building. Wish we could be closer so that we could help yoou finish the painting that didn’t get done. I am sure that first Sunday, in your building was pretty exciting.
