Back From Vacation!
Hello! I’m back from vacation! I had such a great time the last two weeks but I am glad to be home. It’s always such a good feeling to come back home and get back to normal. I spent the first week in Oregon with my family and the second week in Arizona with Jason’s family for a family reunion. Included in the second half of the trip, I got to see the Grand Canyon for the first time! It was such a fun adventure. If you want to see pictures you can check out this post.
With returning home after being gone for two weeks, the work had piled up! I spent the first part of this week trying to catch up and the second part working on this month’s product. This month I had too many ideas for new tags and mini books that I didn’t have time to get them all done but I’m very pleased with the ones I was able to finish. I hope you like them too!
First of all I will mention my very favorite… a school/office themed mini book. I have been working on this in my mind for quite a while. I love any sort of office supplies so I wanted to incorporate that feeling into a mini book kit. This is what I came up with:
The pages are envelopes so you can tuck in mementos and such, and on the front of each envelope is a different design that is office/school themed. Then there is a felt number/letter included that I can just picture sewn on the front to mark your child’s name or grade (you get to choose what letter or number you want). The silly thing is that my favorite part is the number tags that are included. They turned out so cute, even better than I hoped! I’m excited to use it myself!
Next, with the presidential campaign in full swing, I thought I would contribute by making some voting tags. But these voting tags allow for anyone to use because you can check who you are voting for. Do you remember that movie, Brewster’s Millions? He tries to get everyone to vote for “none of the above” which is where I sort of got the idea for these. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could vote for none of the above sometimes?!
And then I also played around with some more upcycled papers, this time repurposed as scalloped tags:
Last but not least, tag of the month for August! I had a hard time this month because what was in my head was not translating to paper very well. I was even getting a little worried! I thought I had it all nailed down in my brain and then… I didn’t like it! But thankfully, after trying many other designs, I came up with this one which I think is so sweet and I can just picture it attached to a gift for a special friend’s birthday.
So that’s it for every jot & tittle for now. For those of you wondering about Christmas tags (believe it or not I have had many inquiries!) I will release new designs next month.
I have had my hands in a lot of projects for myself so hopefully I can post about them soon. I have also been trying to add things to 2pear which has been very fun but I still have so much more to add! Next on my agenda is making scrapbooks from my vacation. Not only do I need to make one for myself, but also for my sister-in-law, my mom, and my mother-in-law! I’m going to be one busy girl. So, I guess I’m off!
