To My Mom
Today is my Mom’s 50th birthday and since I was thinking about her I just thought I would share my thoughts about her.
My Mom is my best friend. She tells me the truth, even when it can be hard to hear and I’m sure hard for her to say. She listens to me and I can tell her anything and ask her anything. She is beautiful. We laugh together. I can tease her and she will tease me back. She loves the Lord. She is giving and forgiving. She gives great advice. She has great style and is known for it. She is the most talented woman I know. She loves to bargain hunt (a love she passed down to me). She loves, honors, and respects my Dad and everyone can tell. She is amazing at keeping house. We always had dinner, clean clothes and a clean house while I was growing up. She was always home when we got home from school. She makes the best chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. She is always smiling. I value her opinion. She is friendly and outgoing. People are always welcome in her home and she entertains often. People want to be her friend. She has a heart to serve others. She reaches out to others, especially those who may have a harder time making friends. She is joyful. She can be silly. She has an amazing eye for color. Everything she touches turns to gold. She doesn’t like to measure, that includes projects and cooking although she sometimes has to (a trait I picked up). She is willing to do whatever the Lord tells her to do even if it’s hard. She learns from her mistakes and is willing to share them with others so it might help them. She is tough. She works hard. She prays for me. She prays for others. She uses the gifts the Lord has given her and always gives the glory to Him. She always tells me she loves me. She is an amazing mom, wife, grandma, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, and friend and I’m proud that she is my mom.
If you know her, you will agree with me about all of these things. And if you don’t know her, you now wish you did :) The best compliment I have ever received is that I am like my Mom.
I love you so much Mom, Happy 50th Birthday. I miss you…
And so…for her birthday, I made her this scrapbook. I really hope she has opened her present before she reads this blog :)
It is a thank you book telling her all of the things about her that I am thankful for. This is (obviously) the cover.

I hardly know what to say. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE PERSON YOU WROTE ABOUT!!! As I read this I realized how gracious God has been to cover all of my failings and have you (and the rest of my family) see the good. It’s easier to be a good Mom when you have great kids! Thank you, Kellie, I love you much.
I know her, and YES, I DO agree with you. Happy Birthday Sheri!! I want to be like you when I grow up! Love you.
