Big Baby Steps

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t like change. If given a choice I’d make sure things would always stay the same, but gradually get better. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Yet that’s not how things happen in the real world. Change usually comes in punctuated lurches. The bigger the lurch, the more profound the change. For those who share my aversion to change these jumps can be a bit scary, even when the change is for the better.

Well, the church is making another jump forward. After meeting in a home for over a year and a half we are moving into a building. Just this morning I signed the lease and was given the key to our first building. It’s all very exciting.

There is some work that needs to be done before it will meet our minimum needs but, hopefully, it won’t take too long. Kellie has broken out her paint chip decks (Note that I said decks, plural; any truly avid designer has more than one of these on their person at all times!) and is trying to come up with a pleasing set of colors.

At the end of the day, we know God is leading us as we take this step. As things begin to take shape and the plans begin to come together we know they’ll have His fingerprints all over them.

Here are a few pictures of the building that were taken when we were still just looking:

So, pretty crazy, huh? If you’re curious, the building is located here.
