Warren and Sheri

I have been spoiled this past week because my parents have been in town visiting us. I love to have visitors! While we have been doing super fun projects and shopping and things like that, we also had time to sneak in a quick photo shoot of the two of them. We had a wonderful evening with beautiful light, who could ask for anything better?! My Dad and Mom were great sports throughout the whole thing even though we got eaten up by mosquitos.

So, without further ado, here are my amazing parents:

Let’s start off with a kissing picture, shall we?!

Jason and I have a picture like this (jumping) and so they thought they would try it too. Aren’t they so cute?

My parents do a lot of laughing together, I’m glad I could capture a bit of it.

I’m so blessed that I have parents that love each other so much!

Oh the sun was so beautiful!

I love this picture…

As we were leaving, we saw this little face peeking out from the mini blinds:

And, since my mom and I like kitties, we had to say hello…

I love you Mom and Dad! Thanks for letting me take your pictures! Hopefully there will be more posts to follow of all the fun things we have been doing :)

A Perfect Day

Today we spent the afternoon on the lake. It doesn’t get much better than that! The weather was fabulous (no humidity!) and not a cloud in sight. The water felt refreshing and we had great friends to share it with. A perfect day :)

Here is a picture of Jason and I (well, part of us!), enjoying the beautiful day:

Dykast Family Visit

A week ago, we had the privilege of having Jason’s family coming to visit us for an extended weekend. We have been spoiled this year because this is the second time his parents have visited but we had an additional treat because it was the first time Jason’s brother Jon has visited our house. We had a great time and even had family pictures taken by the fabulous Rich and Heather Smith. Check out the pictures here.

Sometimes when we have company I take a bunch of pictures and document the whole thing. But this time, I was lazy and only took a handful of pictures. I am so lame :) But here are a couple of pics that I took when we went to the Chickamauga Battlefield on Monday.

Jason resting against a cannon. This park has the most Civil War cannons, they are everywhere!

We climbed to the top of the tower to see the sights.

It was a gorgeous day, not a cloud in sight. With temperatures in the low 70’s it was the perfect day for sightseeing!

Beautiful open fields…

And I will leave you with a silly picture of my husband. He must be really proud of his muscles because at 3 or 4 different times he struck a pose such as this when I was trying to capture the moment.

Thank you for coming to visit us, we had a great time :)

Brett's Visit

I love having guests. Since we live so far from our families, it is so wonderful when they come to visit us. These times are looked forward to and savored once they arrive. This past week we were honored to have my little brother Brett come visit us. We have so much fun together and we end up doing things together that make me feel young again :) Here are a few images from our time together:

texting
This was a regular occurrence at our house this week! And no, I didn’t ask him to text just so I could take a picture. I think he received 3 or 4 texts in the 15 minutes we were taking pictures :)

Have I told you that my brother is an amazing worship leader? Which was a blessing for me because he led worship for our church for both Sundays he was here. Thanks B!

Just before we headed for the airport we took a few crazy pictures

And one last self portrait right before we loaded into the car. Thanks for coming Brett. We had so much fun with you and we love you!!

Corvallis, Oregon

Many of you know that we moved here to Tennessee from Corvallis, Oregon where we grew up. As you can imagine, there are many differences between the west coast and the south but we love each place in its own way.

One huge difference between the two is that Corvallis is much more eco-friendly. Between the two of us we joke about it often. We moved from a place that takes pride in having a bike friendly environment to a place that doesn’t even have sidewalks or crosswalks (literally)! And that’s just one small example. So imagine my delight when I came across this article at Apartment Therapy via Sunset that labeled Corvallis the number one eco-friendly small town in the west. Ha ha! Read it for yourself here!

Jason and Kellie

We’re a couple of kids who happen to love each other like crazy. We use this blog to share the things happening in our world and wax poetic on various topics. Kellie has the brains and the beauty while I (Jason) just have the short end of the stick. (Photo by Heather Smith.)
