Black & Brass: Village
I have always loved little villages at Christmastime. It’s probably because we always had one while I was growing up and I loved to help my Mom get it out every year. A couple of years ago, I made a paper village. You can see it here. This year I decided to try something new.

I went to my local thrift store and bought a few different houses and buildings for a quarter each. Then I bought myself a can of metallic gold spray paint and sprayed them all. It doesn’t even matter if they don’t match because they all get covered anyway. Here is a picture after they are painted:

I think they turned out awesome. And I only spent $4.25 to make them (paint plus houses). Tomorrow I will show you where I have them in the house and the other things that make up the vignette.
Once again, I think these could be used for other seasons. Try painting them black for Halloween or a fun bright color for a party. You could also add some glitter that looks like snow which would be fun as well. If you can find them cheap enough you can experiment!
